The School of Translational Health Science, University of Adelaide
Associate Professor Edoardo Aromataris is the Director of Synthesis Science at the Joanna Briggs Institute, University of Adelaide. He has a background in cellular physiology and pharmacology. Edoardo entered the field of evidence based health care in 2009 and found a specific focus in the domain of evidence synthesis. Whilst he has particular expertise in the synthesis of quantitative evidence, in his role as Director of Synthesis Science for the Joanna Briggs Institute he has been involved in the further development of diverse types of review methodology, including the synthesis of qualitative evidence, and the conduct of these reviews. Edoardo has extensive experience in the acquisition and management of both government and non-government consultancies to aid these organisations to use evidence to inform their decision making in relation to health care policy and practice. Edoardo currently supervises higher degree research students at the University of Adelaide focusing on evidence based health care and in his field of evidence synthesis. He also frequently delivers intensive workshops on how to conduct systematic reviews both nationally and internationally. Within the CREATE research program, Edoardo is bringing these skills and developing them further by working closely with the CREATE Methods Group and other programs in evidence translation.
